I am a process-led ceramicist who believes that the process of making is just as crucial as the final object. I am fascinated by the concept of manipulating the typical stages of the mass production technique of slip casting in order to produce unique outcomes. Using the properties and capabilities of liquid slip, I explore pattern and texture in ceramics through the adaptation of moulds and process.

There is always a strong relationship between my work and nature, as much of my inspiration comes from the world around me. Naturally occurring patterns are often the key influence, and more specifically, patterns that are made of line. I use these inspirations to create a minimal pattern that aims to be effective without the need for heavy elements. This considered simplicity is what draws attention to the small details. Colour is something that is always considered: matching colours from my own photography, I cross-test, tweak and develop a unique palette to fit comfortably in a collection.
