From Woodworking to Graphic Design: Tennessee to Alabama

As our We Are Makers USA Podcast trip continued, we left Nashville and headed to Columbia, Tennessee, where we had the pleasure of spending the day with Ben White of White Wood Company. Ben is a talented woodworker who has a passion for creating beautiful and functional furniture pieces for both homes and businesses. We had a tour around his awesome workshop before sitting down to record a podcast with him. Ben kindly treated us to lunch at Puckets in the old town square, and we had a great time taking a stroll around this charming town. We made plans to meet up with Ben in the future and can't wait to catch up again!

Next up, we drove south to Birmingham, Alabama, our fourth state of the trip. We caught up with Yellow Hammer Creative the next day, run by Brett and Brandon, two amazing people with so much passion for what they do. We learned all about their creative process and how they have grown their business over the years through hard work and determination. Brett and Brandon are two graphic designers and screen printers, situated in a shop in the old DR pepper plant AL. They have a small team who help them run the business and the shop, and we were thrilled to hear that they talked about stocking We Are Makers this year. Community supporting Community - it's what we love to see!

After our podcast with Brett and Brandon, we embarked on a nearly four-hour drive to Enterprise, Alabama, where we had the pleasure of meeting with Ben Geisler, a talented saddle maker who we featured in Edition Six of We Are Makers! We sent a full four days with Ben, it was a great in the middle break and really enjoyed Ben and his family’s company!

Stay tuned for a full blog post dedicated to our time with Ben Geisler!
