My name is Courtney Marles and I am the owner and founder of Kørt, a luxury circular brand of transformable handbags and accessories. Based in the tiny farming town of Åmot, Norway, my workshop is situated on a small farm that has been in my partner’s family for over 70 years. I am originally from a large beef cattle property in Central Queensland, Australia, and have lived and worked in Norway for the last five years.

I studied business management and human resources (HR) and my background is in corporate HR for large international companies, which is where the idea for the Kymera, my signature bag design, came from. When travelling for work, I realised I had to take so many different bags with me: a laptop bag, a backpack, a clutch for evening dinners. I wanted to reduce how many bags I had to take, but I also wanted to be prepared for various situations. So, I searched for bags with versatile sizes and uses. When I couldn’t find anything as functional, good-looking or sustainably manufactured as I knew was possible, I designed and made my own. That’s how Kørt was born.
