I am Anna Štěpánková, a product designer and founder of the brand Masopust, which focuses on unique, contemporary woollen rugs, tapestries and other fun products made by hand tufting. The brand name comes from the traditional Czech carnival of the same name, which involves parades, costumes, music and other such revelry. Like its namesake, the Masopust brand is a joyful parade where you can meet all kinds of cheerful characters and rugs.

I am a product designer who has always been inspired by materials and their possibilities. I prefer to experiment and play with materials rather than sit in front of a computer. I spent some time designing window displays for luxury brands, and scenography, art installations and decorations for various clients. But I decided that I wanted to deepen my focus on one artistic expression while simultaneously creating unique, contemporary, long-lasting home goods.
