Hello, my name is Ranjit Dhaliwal, but you can call me Ranj. I am a potter, a designer-maker of wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramics. Iโ€™m originally from Birmingham, UK, but I work out of my recently completed studio in my garden in Hackney, East London, where I live with my wife and two kids. The build proved to be the mother of all lockdown projects; I began to plan and design it in response to having to leave the studio I shared with friends in March 2020. I started the build in late July, finally finishing it in early October. After a lot of hard yakka, I finally achieved my dream of having my own space that I can see from my kitchen window every day when I wake up. Having my own studio has changed my approach to making and had a really positive effect on my work. I feel very lucky.
