Wazakura Japan comprises me, Yui, founder and manager; Yuko, marketing and product; Carmen, marketing and customer service; Naomi, design and videography; and Saori, photography and videography. Ours is a Japan-based, women-led, small e-commerce business formed by five women (four Japanese and one Spanish) with diverse skills. Our expertise spans design, photography, international commerce, translation and merchandising. But we have one thing in common: a desire to share our passion for Japanese culture and traditional crafts with new audiences overseas.

Wazakura Japan has been delivering the best Japanese bonsai and ikebana tools worldwide since 2019. I had the idea for the business after living abroad in Canada and the USA. I’d found it challenging both to find good quality tools for my Japanese gardening hobbies and to explain certain aspects of Japanese culture to others. The business was born out of a wish to not only make quality tools accessible worldwide but also to keep Japanese crafts alive. That is why all of our tools are designed and manufactured in local Japanese workshops. Our mission is for the customer to enjoy a little taste of Japan from the comfort of their home, with tools 100% made in Japan by skilled local artisans.
