It was at primary school that I was first handed a ball of red clay, which eventually became a much-treasured little house that is still standing today.

Over the years, I kept finding my way back to ceramics intermittently when time allowed, until 10 years ago when I enrolled in a ceramics course at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, UK. I enjoyed many years of learning at Gray’s as part of the short course programme, which I attended while I set up my home studio and started throwing on the wheel and experimenting with glaze testing.
