I’m an artisan crayon maker; I hand make all of my crayons before they get hand polished and carefully boxed and wrapped to be sent out to my lovely customers. I started in my family kitchen and on my dining table, but nowadays I work from my garage workshop. This year, I plan to create a purpose-built, sustainable studio in the garden.

I’m based in Pembrokeshire, in coastal West Wales, UK – I can see the sea from my window. My husband and I moved here three years ago from the bustle of Hampshire, with our then one-year-old and two dogs, because we wanted to raise our family with salt in their hair and sand between their toes. We moved for the ‘good life’ and we have certainly found it here, along with a lovely, welcoming community.

I have always loved colour and creating. I spent my youth creating textile and mixed media artwork and finally settled on studying costume, set and prop design at university. In 2009, I graduated with a first class honours degree in costume design, but ended up on the treadmill of working in unrelated jobs post-university. A few creative hobbies, such as making my own wedding dress, kept me busy for a while, but my expressive brain was always yearning for more fulfilment.
