My name is Sanna Jonsson and I am the creator and designer of Isoletto Design. I’m a Swedish illustrator and surface pattern designer who mainly works with repeat patterns. But really, I love all kinds of creative expression, sewing especially – and I have a great love for designing patterns for fabric.

I live and work in a small town called Umeå, on the coast of northern Sweden. I spend my days in my studio, which is located in a little red house built in the 1960s near the city centre. I’m part of an association called Kreativ Kollektiv (‘The Creative Commune’) along with the eight other female artists who have their studios in the same house. We’re a group of illustrators, painters, designers and textile artists who share both a workspace and knowledge, and cheer each other on. I love my studio and the atmosphere in this house. Many of my city’s creators started their careers here – you can feel the creative spirit in the walls. Every now and then, we organise local markets together, to provide an opportunity to sell our products and to invite locals to peek into our studio spaces.
