I’m a solo maker, slightly feral in nature, creating various ceramic pieces from commercial clay and from wild clay gathered from the land surrounding my farmhouse shed studio in Scotland, UK. 

I make an eclectic mix of items from functional kitchenware to decorative household items, including incense burners and tea light holders depicting the traditional Scottish bothy, harbour houses and other small traditional Scottish buildings. I’ve found that using ‘wild clay’ (clay dug by hand locally) leads to attempts to find an appropriate use for that particular clay, as each little pocket I find is very different in nature. Clay can vary greatly in its usability, and there is a slow and often meticulous process of testing and research.
