My name is Lucia de Marco and I’m 28. I was born in Puglia, in the south of Italy, by the sea, and now I work as a freelance illustrator in Milan, where I also live. As a child, you could find me playing with pencils and colours, and it’s the same story today. I’ve always loved art, in all its forms, and being creative. I studied history of art in my hometown, Bari, and then decided to move to Milan and study editorial illustration.
Making my passion into a job has always been a necessity. Doing anything else seemed to me a boring waste of time, and I can’t imagine myself doing any other job. But at first I was scared and didn’t know how to start. People started appreciating my artworks thanks to social media and then art directors and companies began to notice me. But I am still on my way. I haven’t realised my big dreams yet, but I’m working on it and hope they will come true very soon.
