I am an artist and surface designer, who currently works with natural dyes made using home-grown and locally grown flowers, natural extracts and respectfully foraged leaves, like hemp, birch and sumac, as well as barks, black walnuts and so much more. I hand-dye everything from textiles to paper in small batches, to create one-of-a-kind works of art. So much goes into each piece, from growing and harvesting flowers to scouring and mordanting the fabric and finally dyeing it. I love the process, though: it’s slow and thoughtful, and yet allows so much room for creativity.
