I run a herbal wellness brand called Mila’s Apothecary, formulating micro batches of multifunctional, sustainable, plant-based and organic skincare, herbal teas and elixirs. The products that I craft are rooted in folk herbalism and backed by science. As part of my formulation process, I listen to the wise women’s knowledge that has been whispered down through the generations and study the data from modern clinical research on herbs.

I strive to use ethically and sustainably sourced organic ingredients from farms where workers are paid a fair wage, and I am so proud of the quality of these ingredients. One of my current favourites is the silky, emerald-green strawberry seed oil made from the discarded seeds of Europe’s jam-making industry, which would otherwise go to waste. Another is the fragrant Damask rose water I buy from a third generation family-run farm in the foothills of Mount Olympus. I use local produce where I can, and also grow, gather and process my own herbs, which is as local as it can get.

I believe that skincare products should not just make your skin look radiant, and herbal teas should not just taste good. They should also provide a moment of calm; a grounding ritual you want to return to again and again. These offerings are an invitation for you to slow down and show yourself some love and care.
