My name is Sandra, and I am the woman behind the bookbinding and artisanal printing project naranja&madera, which translates as ‘Orange and Wood’.

I have a small printing and binding workshop, and I am the one-woman female orchestra behind all this. My work is part of my life, it is my way of life, my livelihood and my passion – it is all united. I have the workshop installed in the garage at home, where I have lived for eight years. My house is nestled amid nature, at the foot of a large mountain. Because my workshop is in the lower part of the house, home and work occupy two independent spaces, which I like as it allows me to isolate myself to work calmly. My soundtrack is nature, and also the radio, my great companion.

I am the mother of two children and working at home allows me to be flexible in my schedule. For me, it is essential that it be like that; it is not a luxury. My children immerse themselves in my trade and it is very gratifying for me that they are in the workshop fluttering while I work.
