My name is Lara Bland and I started Studio Wolle at the end of 2018, launching my first collection a year later. I am a hand weaver making woollen cloth, working mainly on a computerised dobby loom, which helps to speed up the process of churning out the fabric. My cat Marley is often found in the studio with me – most often snoozing but sometimes climbing all over the loom, trying to be helpful.

I am based in Canterbury in Kent, UK, where I was born and have lived all my life apart from the four years I spent in Brighton. My studio is in my parents’ garden; they were very happy to donate some of their land for my business. As something of a lone wolf, I enjoy the freedom of being my own boss yet still having the option to collaborate and work with other wonderful individuals when I choose.
