My name is Claire and I create illustrated and naturally dyed textiles in my Wool and Nature studio. After years of working in the world of illustration and design, I wanted to play again. I felt removed from the tactile process; I missed working with my hands. As an illustrator, I worked with colour every day, and I was curious to explore the colour world of natural dyeing, and to understand more about plants and the colours they give us, so that I could be more connected to the nature that surrounds us.

Guided by intuition and playfulness, I sought out a way to incorporate illustration in the world of natural colours and textiles. The colour palette that I use in my work is soft and feminine, and the transition into the soft shades from nature felt like coming home. Using plant extracts, I dream up colours and botanical illustrations. All colours are chosen intuitively from plants that I have picked from our garden or found while foraging close to home.
